Nowadays, we see news about Israel almost daily. Unfortunately,
the way that the media presents Israel is not always from the perspective of
the Bible. That is why we thought it was necessary to do some studies about
Israel and Jerusalem, with a special emphasis on their prophecy.
The attention that Israel and Jerusalem has received from
the nations lately is no coincidence; it is really the fulfillment of the
prophecy. The Bible says that on the last days, the nations will fight over the
control of Jerusalem. Today, the nations are putting diplomatic pressure for
Palestine to be recognized as an independent state, having Jerusalem as their
capital, but that city has been the capital of the modern state of Israel from
its beginning.
The Bible says that Jerusalem will be the stone of division
between the nations.
(Zechariah 12:3) On that day I
will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will
surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against
it.
The nations will fight for the control of Jerusalem… but, in
the end, God will defend it and he will get it back to fulfill his purpose
there…
(Zechariah 12:9) And on that day
I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
It is important to be informed about all that is happening
in Israel, but even more important is to know what the Bible reveals about this
place. With this in mind, we will begin a special study this year about the
Land of Israel. On the next weeks, we will publish some introductory studies
about this subject, which we will expand in the future…
